Valerie Watiker, M.D.
Dr. Watiker grew up in the small city of Zanesville, outside of Columbus, Ohio. She attended Albion College in Michigan and received her Masters Degree in genetic counseling from Sarah Lawrence College in New York before moving west to work as a genetic counselor at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. It was her experience at Cedars Sinai that inspired Dr. Watiker to realize her true passion: becoming a doctor. She attended UC Irvine School of Medicine, completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics at Cedars Sinai in 2006, and received her Board Certification in 2007. Since that time, she has maintained a private pediatric practice in West Los Angeles as well as an adult and pediatric consultative genetics practice both privately and at multiple major institutions.
Dr. Watiker is on staff at Cedars Sinai Medical Center where she is Clinical Chief of Pediatrics, Providence St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, UC Irvine, and the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she is an Associate Clinical Professor and sees patients via telemedicine. In her spare time, Dr. Watiker enjoys being with her family and their pets, swimming and horseback riding.
